We are delighted to announce our collaboration with NNTBLST (Nontablist), the first artist to join our modular/hardware techno label. Specializing in improvised techno lives, it’s the perfect match with the label’s philosophy and his 1st EP!
About Nntblst
It’s been 25 years since Octavio got his hands on a mixer and a pair of decks and started dabbling in music, particularly hip-hop, house, and techno.
Coming from the Chilean underground independent hip-hop scene in the early 2000s as DJ Octavio for the group Cuarto Universo, he later shifted away from hip-hop to focus entirely on music production and live performance.
During this time, Nntblst (or Nontablist) project was born. Armed with just a few MIDI controllers and a drum machine, he slowly transitioned from regular DJ sets to live shows, inevitably leading to “live modular jams.”
His releases narrate the tale of this transition from heavy sample-based beats to fully analog modular music, being featured on labels such as MDR netlabel, Pueblo Nuevo, Recycled Plastics, Orion Network, and Shake Tapes.
Nntblst’s music is an evolving story where limitations and DIY serve as tools, marking the starting point for creativity.

In recent years, Nnblst has focused on his hyper energetic raw hypnotic techno lives. With his experiences, he has managed to shape a compact, devilishly effective modular case, decidedly live-oriented. He delivers improvised lives, completely hypnotizing, with great mastery of live performance. He takes the audience into his warm and mysterious sound atmospheres and textures supported by frenzied rhythms.
For Open Machine, he has drawn the best from his live-set performances and has concocted a scintillating EP for us. Recorded live, it retains all the freshness, dynamic and happy accidents. 5 tracks to discover very soon, which together, take us on a captivating journey.
